Students gather around the flagpole at Callahan Elementary School before classes start Sept. 26 in celebration of See You at the Pole. Students at CES actually gather for morning prayer at the pole every Wednesday morning. Schools throughout Nassau County and the nation gathered Sept. 26 in celebration of the global event. SYATP began in 1990 as a grassroots movement with 10 students praying at their school. Twenty-eight years later, millions of students pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September.
