Students win essay contest

The Town of Hilliard recognized the top essay writers for the “If I Were Mayor of the Town of Hilliard” writing contest. Third grade students at Hilliard Elementary School participated in the contest. Hannah Wollitz won first place and a $50 prize while Charlee King placed second with a $30 prize and Mya Fryer took third and a $20 prize. The contest highlights Florida City Government Week. The 2019 theme was “My City: I’m part of it, I’m proud of it.” The essays appear exactly as the children wrote them.

If I were mayor of the town of Hilliard I would do three things. 

First, I would raise money for medical needs because docters need medicine to help their patients feel well. Next, I would lower it down to one peice of candy every day because children can get to hyper and that that can make the children sick. Last, I would make more outdoor activitey because I think people are on electronics to much and that can damage your eyes. These are the three things I would do if I were mayor of the town of Hilliard.

If I were Mayor of Hilliard I would build a target. I would build a target because of the food, clothes, and toys. It would be convenite because my mom goes to the groshery store like every few day’s. My family eats a lot! Hilliard need’s a fast place to get food. Not to mention there’s the best place ever, Starbucks. Don’t even get me started on clothes. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a go to store in this little town? You can go cloths shopping whenever you want. You can get new clothes like every week. Target has a endless suply of cloths. OK lets get real about toy’s. I found my favorite toy that ive been wanting for a super, duper long time an OMG Pet. I found it in the toy section ouv corse but my mom said it half to wate tell Cristmas because she said that’s when were are going to get A HEAD of presints. OK more ditels about the toy It iS a really small puppie and it comes with a bottel and that’s the end.

If I were Mayor of the town of Hilliard I would add many new places a few new thing’s I would build are a Chick-fil-a, a target, and an amusement center.

I would Put in a Chik-fil-a because we need more restaurants. I would put in a target because we need more Places to buy clothes. I would Put in an amusement center because we need more Places to have fun. 

In my amusement center there would be arcade games and a bowling alley. This will be a fun Place for Kids and Parents. If i were Mayor of Hilliard this town would be great!
