The Country Star Quilt Guild sells tickets for a chance to win a handmade Christmas quilt. The quilt design is called Christmas Stars and is made with red, green and white printed cotton fabric. The quilt fits a queen size bed and comes with two pillow shams. Cathy McMann designed the quilt and members of the Quilt Guild pieced it. Chris Sandstrom, also a member of the guild, did the final quilting.
Members of the Guild will be showing it and selling tickets for it in the Home Arts building through Saturday at the Northeast Florida Fair. You can also see the quilt and buy tickets at Conners A-maize-ing Acres Heritage Day Nov. 4, Pioneer Day at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge Nov. 18 and at Hilliard Elementary School’s front desk until Dec. 15. For all tickets sold at the school, the Guild will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Hilliard Elementary School PTO. Guild members will also sell tickets. Tickets are $1 and the drawing will be held Dec. 15. The winner does not need to be present to win.
The Country Star Quilt Guild is in its third year and meets each month on the second Monday at 7 p.m. in the clubhouse at Kelly’s RV Park, 36065 Kelly Lane, Callahan. Sit ’n Sews are also scheduled each month. The guild welcomes new members that have an interest in quilt making at all levels.
