Every year, Nassau County 4-H conducts numerous embryology programs throughout the county, reaching more than 1,000 youth. The embryology program allows students to witness chicks hatching in their classrooms while instilling life skills in youth, such as responsibility and science literacy. Due to the increase in classrooms requesting this vital program, 4-H needs your help.
Volunteers would help during the school day for a few hours and teach classrooms about the hatching and incubation process, as well as chick care and other topics. Previous experience is not required. A training session will be held at noon Jan. 7 at the Yulee Extension Office. If you are interested in donating some time to helping this program, call Kelsey Irvine at 904-530-6353 to learn more.
